Alarms Icon     The Alarms Server takes action based on an event occurrence.
The Alarm Server interfaces with other external systems so that the occurrence of an EPS event can be used to trigger either local or external events.  The Alarms Server allows for user definable alarms definitions which take into consideration many different types of EPS Events.  The Alarming tab of the Alarm Server displays any active Alarms and the send/receive statistics from the Alarm Server.  If any Remote Alarms Display tasks are active a count of these links will be indicated next to the Links display.  A typical Alarming display is shown below.

The Alarm Log tab displays information regarding past alarms that have occurred.   A typical display is shown below.

The Connect tab of the Alarms Server shows the connection information to the Event Processor (left side) as will as the connection information to the Paging Server (for Alphanumeric paging) and to the NetIO application (for relay opening/closing).  A typical Alarms Connect screen is shown below.

The Events tab displays defined alarm conditions/events.

The following defines each of the sections in the screen above.

bulletNames - The names of the defined Alarm Events
Add New - Used to add a new alarm definition
Delete - Deletes a defined alarm definition
Suspend/Resume - Allow a defined alarm definition to be suspended
bulletAlarm Type - Either a single alarm definition or a filtered alarm definition (groups)
bulletAlarm Conditions - The type of event that triggers  an alarm (see below)
Enter - Tag/Item enters a location or set of locations.
Exits - Tag/Item exits a location or set of locations.
To Still - Tag/Items state changes to "Still"
In Motion - Tag/Items state changes to "Motion"
Not Seen- Tag/Items not seen for a specified period of time
Separate One - Tag/Items not seen with another defined Tag/Item
Separate Any - Tag/Items not seen with any of a set of defined Tags/Items
Occurs - Tag/Items is seen
Left Path - Tag/Items left defined path (Path Track)
Staff Assist - Tag button pressed
911 Assist - Tag button pressed
Complex - Alarm which requires other Alarm conditions to be met (linked Boolean alarm definitions)
bulletName - The Tag/Item which is used with the alarm definition
bulletLocation - The Location which is used with the alarm definition
bulletTrigger - What type of alarm is to occur, see screen and definitions below

Sound - Beep, Tone, Siren, Whistle or play a Wav file
Screen Pop - User defined colors
Send Page - Alphanumeric page to a pager or pager group (via Paging Server) see screen belowalarms_s5b.gif (6021 bytes)
Relay Control - Open/Close a defined relay (via NetIO)
Move Tag - Generates an event which moves a tag to a new location
DB Alarm Logging - Enabled or Disabled
bulletTime Dependencies - When the Alarm will occur or not occur
bulletOther Definitions - Alarms escalation, reset Icon and Wav file definitions, see screen below

The Alarms options tab defines what fields will be written to the Alarms log file, the name of that file and if logging to the EPS Database is enabled or disabled.
