The Reel Server Interface
provides for communications to the Host System
The Reel Server Application is a Bi-directional, fully buffered communications control
application.
It facilitates requests from the Host system to the Event Processing System (via Reel Track) and the return of the data from Reel Track back to the
host system. In the event that either System is down, the Reel Server application
can buffer requests until either system is restored. All communications in/out of
the Reel Server application is done via TCPIP.
The screen below show a typical Reel Server transaction log.

By selecting the All, Host or Local tabs the different subsets of transactions can be
viewed.
The Options tab of the Reel Server application appears as shown below.

Here you can see the database name that is configured for use, and the TCPIP port
definitions used to communicate with the Reel Server application and the connection
information regarding the applications that are currently connected to the Reel Server
Application.
The Statistics screen, shown below shows the number of transmissions from the host to
the Reel Server, from the Reel Server to Reel Track, from Reel Track to the Reel Server
and from the Reel Server to the host system. Any errors in any of the above
transmissions is also shown. The screen below shows all operations have completed
normally.

At the bottom of the screen, the data last sent to the host system is displayed.
This is useful in diagnosing communications problems.
