The Watch Dog
application is used to start applications in a specific sequence.
This application is used to insure that specific applications are started, and are running
at all times. The Watch Dog application is placed in the Windows Startup group when
the Event Processing System is installed. The WatchDog.Cfg file is used to define
which applications will be started, how long to wait until the next application is
started, and if the application will be monitored. Watch Dog's monitoring capability
is used to insure that if an application is terminated, it will automatically be restarted
by Watch Dog within the monitoring period specified in the .Cfg file. The screen
below shows a typical WatchDog screen.

The above shows the names of three applications that Watch Dog has started. It also
indicates how often Watch Dog is to check to make sure that each of these applications is
operational (every 30 seconds).
The screen below shows how Watch Dog would appear if it found that the Monitor
application was not executing.

If this were to happen and WatchDog were monitoring the Monitor application, it would be
restarted automatically.
When a user tries to take down the Watch Dog application a warning message will be
displayed. Depending on how many applications are being monitored, the screen will
appear as shown below.

If OK is selected, there will be a prompt for a password, this will appear as seen below.

Only if the correct password is entered will Watch Dog terminate.
